V.A. KENEL (act. 1877): The first permanent stone circus building in Russia. It was built on the initiative of circus leader Gaetano Cinizelli whose circus toured St. Petersburg in 1847. Built on the site of previous wooden circus buildings. Also known as the Circus-on-Fontanka.
