SEVERAN Anonymous (193-235): The four-way arch (quadrifrons) was placed at the intersection of the cardo and decumanus maximus to commemorate the visit by Septimius Severus to Leptis Magna. The decorative sculpture shows stylistic connections with the art of Asia Minor.
