GREEK ARCHAIC Anonymous (700 BCE - 480 BCE ): The Temple has 53 (8 x17) exterior columns. It is larger than the Parthenon and the Temple of Zeus at Olympia. Restored under Augustus; again under Trajan after the Jewish revolt of 115. The earthquake of 365 and Byzantine church building nearby caused further destruction. Final restoration was done by Italian archaeologists in the 1960s-1980s.
