KLEOPHRADES PAINTER (act. c. 505 BCE-475 BCE): The scene is from the story of Jason and the Argonauts and their quest for the Golden Fleece. Shown is Phineus a prophet and king of Thrace who was punished by the gods for giving away their secrets. The Harpies would steal Phineas' food whenever he tried to eat. Jason rescued Phineas.
