ROMAN LATE ANTIQUE Anonymous (284 - c. 500): The inscription in Greek says: Remember me your dear sweetheart and be well Sophronios. The motif of an ear-tweaking hand signifies a request for attention. The knotted object may represent remembrance. The late antique cameo was mounted in the modern era.
