ETRUSCAN Anonymous: This statue depicts Herakles straddling the hind of a hoofed animal. The statue is one of four life sized acroterians on the roof of the Temple of Arcalco (Apollo) in the Sanctuary of Potonaccio in Veii. This statue most likely faced the statue of Apollo and depicted the mythological struggle between Herakles and Apollo for the Ceryneian hind.
