WORKS PROGRESS ADMINISTRATION Anonymous (1935-1943): The fort was located along the Arkansas River. It was founded by brothers William Bent (1809-1869) and Charles Bent (1798-1847). The diorama was based on accounts by Lieutenant James Abert in 1845. The diorama was made under the auspices of the Works Progress Administration in 1933-1934.
