BONANNUS OF PISA (active 12th c. - ): The artist signed & dated the doors in 1185. The doors were cast in Pisa & brought by sea to Sicily. When they arrived the doors had to be shortened before they could be hung. Each door has 21 panels. Individual Biblical scenes are simple in design.
