ENGLISH GOTHIC Anonymous (active c. 1220-1500 - ): Shorne is known for conjuring (capturing) the devil into his boot and for various miracles. Richard Beauchamp, Bishop of Salisbury (1450-1482), tried to have him canonized. The mural was found in 1962 in a house on Long Street in Sherborne. It was under layers of wallpaper and whitewash."
