FLEMISH GOTHIC Anonymous (active c. 1200 - 1500): The Speculum historiale or Mirror of History is one of three parts of the Speculum maius written by the 13th-century monk Vincent de Beauvais. Jean de Vignay translated the Speculum historiale from its original Latin into French in the 14th century as Miroir historial.
