About This Item
OTTOMAN Anonymous (1516 - 1918): Built for Mustapha Gurgi, originally from Caucasusian Georgia and chief of the Tripoli customs service. The complex includes a madrasa and Gurgi's mausoleum. The Minaret is decorated with tile and is the tallest in the old section of Tripoli. This passage leads to the entrance of the former British Consulate.
