BYZANTINE PROVINCIAL Anonymous (c. 330-1453): The original mosaic floor was made up of 10 rows of 5 square panels set into a grid pattern with a frame of looped-circles. The mosaic was finished in the 3rd year of Bishop Macarius's office (September 539-August 540). The basilica was erected during a building campaign under the Emperor Justinian.
