BYZANTINE PROVINCIAL Anonymous (c. 330-1453): The inscription refers to Theodorus who succeeded Macarius as bishop in September 540. The mosaic was completed during Theodorus's term as bishop. This scene was originally to the east of the central panel in the chapel.
