BYZANTINE PROVINCIAL Anonymous (c. 330-1453): The original mosaic was made up of 10 rows of 5 panels set into a grid with a frame of looped-circles. The Euphrates was one of the 4 paradisiacal rivers of Eden in the Book of Genesis (Chap. 2). Kastalia was the pagan nymph of the prophetic springs of the Delphic Oracle.
