HIBERNO-SAXON Anonymous: Legend says it was Charlemagne's gift to Wittekind (Duke of Saxony) to commemorate his baptism. Possibly brought over with Irish/English monks from Herford. Part of Quedlinburg Treasury 'lost' in WWII.
