Tikal. North Acropolis with Stelea on the Great Plaza.
About This Item
MAYA Anonymous: Over 100 different structures have been found in the North Acropolis, beginning rom the 4th century BCE. The Mays continually built over earlier structures creating many layers. Most of the stelae in front of the plaza were not carved and were probably painted. They may have served a function similar to billboards.
