Antonio GILARDI (act. 1488): Left: Vodovzvodnaya (Water) Tower by Gilardi 1488. Named for the water elevating machine and pressurized pipe system which brought water from the Moscow River to the Kremlin. The top was added 1672-1686. Right: Borovitskaya Tower by Solari 1490. Named for the bor (pine forest) that once covered one of the seven hills of Moscow.
