SUMERIAN EARLY DYNASTIC Anonymous (2900 BCE - 2730 BCE): Found at the base of a mud-brick platform of the temple of the goddess Ninhursag. Shows stags on either side of the lion-headed eagle Imdugud. This mythical creature was the symbol of the god Ningirsu the principal deity of the kingdom of Lagash.
