URARTIAN Anonymous (850 BCE-590 BCE): The conical shape was designed to deflect arrows. Holes around the bottom served to attach a leather or felt lining. The decoration shows curving snakes ending in bull's heads framing the Urartian version of the Egyptian sun-disc.
