ETHIOPIAN SOLOMONIC DYNASTY Anonymous: Lalibela was the Ethiopian king who created the cluster of churches in the 12th century at Lalibela, which was named after him. He was later named a saint. The detail on the left shows Lalibela rolling on swords to commemorate Christ's suffering. The figure on the right portrays a robber.
