About This Item
FLAMBOYANT GOTHIC Anonymous (c. 1400 - 1550): The windows were constructed byglassworkers from Lyon following designs provided by arftists from the Netherlands. The kneeling donors probably represent Margaret of Bourbon and her husband. When he was killed in a hunting accident she vowed to build a church in his honor, but she never did so. When her son, Philibert le Beau similarly died, his wife Marguerite of Austria determined to carry out the vow of her mother-in-law.
