Josiah WEDGWOOD (1730-1795): Wedgwood made his first copy of the ancient Roman Portland Vase (c. 5-25 CE) in 1789 and it was reissued several times. His copy matched the ancient vase in shape and size but not material. The Skyphos was a drinking cup.
