About This Item
Johann Joachim KANDLER (1706 - 1775): Made for the Japanese Palace of Augustus the Strong Elector of Saxony (1670-1733). The former residence in Dresden had been converted to a palace to display his Japanese porcelain collection in 1722. From 1727-1732 he ordered 458 porcelain objects; including 214 life-size animals and 218 birds; from his Meissen factory for the Palace.
