This course is a requirement for students majoring in sociology. Its objective is to introduce you to the basic research methods used by social scientists -- observation, survey, experimentation, interview, and archival research. It demonstrates the logic of reasoning in social science. We will cover a great deal of material and a large number of subjects in a relatively short period. Therefore, by necessity, the pace of the course will be quite fast. This course is not recommended for any student who does not have sufficient time in their schedule to keep pace with the class. No late work will be accepted and no incompletes will be given.
