This course teaches you about basic quantitative tools used by social scientists to make arguments about social phenomena. It is not a statistics and probability course; we will learn mathematical formulae but we will concentrate on the interpretation of results rather than calculation. The substantive content of the course will be contemporary racial residential segregation, an area of study particularly rich with good quantitative analysis.
