RAZA276 – Raza 276: U.S. Government & Constitutional Ideals
Briefly, this course covers the theoretical
foundations and practical applications of government policy and political
participation from a Latino perspective. We will critically explore primary
documents such as the US Constitution, The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, Congressional
legislation and Supreme Court decisions. Some of the specific policy we will
examine include the CA State Budget process, The California Master Plan, and The
Dream Act, as these have a disproportionate impact on the Latino population. This
course satisfies the US & California Government Requirement.
