ETRUSCAN Anonymous: This stele was one of many funerary monuments found in the Felsina cemetery in Bologna. Many of the monuments found in the Felsini cemetery followed a pattern similar to the stele shown; the top depicts a sea monster or animal that is representative of the underworld and the mid and bottom sections depict the experiences of the deceased while journeying to the underworld via chariot or foot. The bottom scene of the stele depicts a she-wolf nursing a boy- it is not clear how this scene relates to the journey of the deceased or from what myth the scene is derived.
