ETRUSCAN Anonymous: This funerary cippus depicts the deceased being led before an altar by a winged genius. This signifies the moment of parting from the mortal world to the underworld. The alternate side of the cippus (not shown) depicts the journey of the deceased to the underworld as he encounters and fights obstacles.
