ETRUSCAN Anonymous: This relief was one of three plaques nailed to the ends of three main wood beams inside Temple A at the Pyrgi sanctuary. This central plaque was the only plaque that was able to be restored among the three original. The plaque illustrates the Greek myth The Seven against Thebes recounting the failed expedition led by the Argive king Adrastos against the city of Thebes. The plaque features Athena; Zues; an unidentified Theban; Kapaneus; Thydeus and Melanippos.
