ETRUSCAN Anonymous: This is a detail of the drapery worn by Apollo on the statue that once adorned the roof of the Sanctuary of Potonaccio in Veii. The linear design and dramatic folds of the drapery reflect the efforts of the artist to combat the optical deformations that occur in statues that are viewed from a distance.
