North on Sanchez Street from Liberty Street - 1986 (Updated over a year ago)
You can view this bundle in the Max Kirkeberg Collection collection area.
On the left horizon is a hazy Angel Island. The hill with trees would be Lafayette park. Next is a cluster of high-rises associated with Western Addition Redevelopment, phase 1. In the middle sits St. Mary's Cathedral and below it a wide, low, white building with black vertical windows, which is the U.S. Mint. To its left, and a little closer to the camera, is Safeway. To its left is St. Francis Lutheran Church. On the horizon are several residential high-rises on Russian Hill. Then we get into the Civic Center area, with the large, black, Federal Building on Golden Gate Avenue. In front of that is City Hall, and to the right is the white tower of the AAA annex on Van Ness Avenue (now transformed into an all-glass residential condo building). The gray tower is the Fox Plaza.
