A temporary wooden hut at San Francisco State College’s early Lake Merced campus, circa early–mid 1950s. Structures like this were erected during the transition from the Haight & Buchanan campus and were used for student organizations, faculty space, and other campus functions while permanent buildings were still under construction. The simple construction and unlandscaped surroundings reflect the rapid expansion period following the College’s move to the 19th Avenue site in 1953.
