You can view this bundle in the SFSU Over the Years collection area.

View of San Francisco State Teachers College from the corner of Market and Herman Streets, January 1922. The image captures the Buchanan Street campus shortly after the institution’s transition from San Francisco State Normal School to San Francisco State Teachers College. In 1921, the California Legislature authorized three-year programs at State Teachers Colleges, formally elevating the Normal Schools and expanding their academic mission. The photograph shows campus buildings along Market Street, including visible construction and expansion during this period of institutional growth. An early 1920s four-door sedan—likely a Ford Model T—sits prominently in the foreground, reflecting the rapid rise of automobile culture in San Francisco during this period of institutional transition.
