Brakebill followed Dumke to the Chancellor’s Office. Deland led building of new science buildings in the late-1960s. He led extensive move of administrated offices to the new Administration Building in late 1976. President Paul Romberg appointed Deland to be Director of Institutional Planning in 1977.
