Sirhan Sirhan outburst at San Quentin

KRON-TV newsfilm footage from September 10 1970 featuring scenes from an interview with the Associate Warden of San Quentin state prison Jim Park, who is asked to describe events surrounding Sirhan Sirhan's recent confinement to an isolation cell. Inmate Sirhan is on death row for the assassination of Senator Robert Kennedy. Park states that a request Sirhan made to use a telegram service was denied because staff judged it to be "not legally urgent" and goes onto explain that when Sirhan got angry and refused to leave his cell, tear gas was used to subdue him. Park also speculates: "This probably came on top of a fair amount of tension he was feeling becuase of the Middle East thing and his mother flying to New York and this sort of thing." Park goes on to say that Sirhan is currently being held in an isolation cell, pending a disciplinary hearing.
