Race - The Power of an Illusion: The Difference Between Us (Updated over a year ago)

The first episode of the “Race- The Power of an Illusion” series explores the actual differences between races of people, as opposed to the differences that are perceived to exist.  It confronts the distinction between race and ancestry utilizing DNA sequencing and explains that human variation is tied to geography and local conditions rather than to genetic differences.  Additionally, the episode challenges the prevailing reliance on myths about race and the hesitancy to search beyond race to explain group differences.  The episode concludes that race is a powerful social idea rather than a biological fact.
