At the bottom of the slide are both lanes of Highway 101, north and south bound. On the right side is the beginning of an industrial area with a prominent gas storage tank owned by Pacific Gas and Electric. At the left is Potrero Hill, with regular homes on the far left and then the beginning of the Potrero Hill Public Housing that makes up most of the southern slopes of the hill. The last street separating Potrero Hill from the industrial area is 26th Street, which will later be filled with loft apartments on the very steep slopes. Beyond the public housing is another gas storage tank owned by Pacific Gas and Electric, also now removed. The East Bay Hills are almost obscured, as is a small part of the San Francisco Bay. The smokestack in the distance was most likely owned by Pacific Gas and Electric. See slide from 1982 to view the gas storage tank still in existence.
